  2. They are a complete scam with deception.

  3. Anyone notice that multiple auctions have the exact same time stamps with the exact same usernames "supposedly" bidding?

  4. According to another site's research, each bid only increases by a penny and they charge $.75 so your final price for an item can skyrocket if there aren't a lot of people bidding and the price gets high. Sucks even worse if you don't even win the item.

  5. Beware! Wavee is a big rip off and they will steal your money without you knowing it. When you go to sign up at the site you are required to buy credits if you want to place a bid.

I tried to purchase $75.00 of credits and I kept getting a page error that my CC info was wrong. There is nothing wrong with my CC, but just in case I went to my bank to see if there was a problem with my bank account.

Wavee charged me an unauthorized $179.00 plus for the $75 credits I tried to buy. My bank is handling the matter for me to get my money back.

  8. ya i got the same $179.00 fee on my card as well. as soon as i saw it i tried to call. no answer. i called back and someone picked up the phone and hung it up. i went on there live chat site. it took 45 min b4 anyone got online. when i explained to them they had charged me $179.00 to sign up, they sent me to a page that i "signed up" at and there it was but u have to scroll all the way down just to get to that part. funny how i didnt see that when i signed up. so i said "hey i just signed up and you took money out of my account, i dont want this service and would like to have my money back in my account" well of course they gave me every reason why the charge was there. 1 that this is a one time 20% off offer that out regular customers dont get 2. They say that the $179.00 fee is plastered all over the web page i signed up....hmmmm didnt see it wonder why and my fav number 3. "it is your resonsablity to read before you put in your info" true.....but when i read it, it didnt say, you will be charged $179.00 would you still like to proceed button like everyone else

  9. I too felt duped but then I contacted customer support and they were VERY helpful. In fact, as a person who firmly believes in acknowledging the postive as well as the negative I am doing so now. Please Wavee a chance to solve your issues with them before doing anything drastic.

  10. I too was suckered in by the "free" use. I was charged 75.00 US but was refunded 37.50 and kept all 120 credits.

  11. update to my Oct 29, 2010 comment.

I contacted BBB about my involvment with this company, in turn they contacted the Wavee team and the next day was refunded all of my $179.00 even after they said they wouldnt do it when i tryed to contact them umpteen times.

  12. absolutely a scam. i too was charged $179 without confirmation or asknowledgement. just thought i was registering my card for FUTURE bidding. have been calling them for days now trying to get refunded, but no answer regardless of the prompt i choose. also there is no way of knowing who's bidding against you. i'm sure it's their own people running up the bids. no profiles for other users, location, number of auctions won, etc. then i was forced to start bidding....what else was i going to after no answers to my calls. won 2 auctions, lost a few others. NEVER RECEIVED THE GIFT CARDS...now 2 weeks later. plus fake news ads.

  13. It is a big rip off! They will charge u 179 $ on your credit card! A friend of my signed up for it a few weeks ago! If they would charge me the 179$, i would sue the sh.. out of them! It is just unbelievable , that they can get away with it! IT IS A BIG FRAUD "COMPANY"!

  14. Hm. I feel lucky that it wouldn't let me sign up.

    ReplyDelete
  15. They brag about their patent pending software...Well what a piece of crap.Sometimes i sign in 3 or 4 times in a row before it will keep me logged on. When you back up a page after doing a search for items it takes you back to main page and you have to type in your search all over again. Other times if you are bidding the page will just freeze up and then you have to re-log on again. It tells me i am watching an item ALWAYS when actually i am not. It will not remember my log in info or will it remember my payment and shipping info even after multiple check marks in the remember me in box..Also you have to pay for each win one at a time. Since it won't remember your info you have to type in everything over and over to pay for 10 cents worth of purchases. I won a bundle of credits and it does not show up in my little flag keeper at the top of the page. But mostly what throws up a red flag to me is i just today randomly picked 30 or 40 different items and ALL these items had some if not all the same bidders bidding on the same item...Is that coincidence, some sort of conspiracy, SCAM???? Why would someone waist so many credits on so many items knowing they can only win 5 to 7 of those items in a 7 day period. Also, they disclose everything you can think of in their terms and agreement page but carefully left out the buying limit clause and hid it up on a little flag icon that nobody even notices until you find out you can not bid any more and then a "FLASH" message pops up on your screen so fast you can not even read it. I am almost inclined to beleive that maybe the items you are bidding on DO NOT EVEN EXIST.. THINK ABOUT IT...what if WAVEE has in-house bidders with these fictious names always winning after you and i spent all our credits thinking we were bidding against legitimate bidders only to find out the items never really get sent to anyone...There are TOO many things that smell bad about WAVEE's website and their business practices...I would think a class action lawsuit is in order...If it smells like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck then it is a DUCK...thats my disgusted feeling about WAVEE...

  16. defnitely a scam. they charged me 75.00 and i did not get too bid much because it kept flashing off too sign in again. what can i do? does anyone know? they will not answer my complaints. is there a phone # you can call?

  17. Their customer service number is supposed to be 1-800-879-WAVEE. However, I have tried to call several times and the line never connects. I am having the same problem as those above. They ask for your credit card information, which I thought was just for future biding because there is no verifiaction that you just spent $75.00. But, that's what his my bank within minutes...a complete scam!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree that wavee is a scam. Nothing was in the terms and conditions stating a registration fee would be accessed. I was taken for $75 on my card too. I was on the customer service line for 3 hours and still never got anyone to answer. Of course I can't get a live chat or send an email. I am having my bank deal with them and I am turning them into the better business bureau tomorrow.

  19. Ditto on the $75 unauthorized charge on my bank account. Unfortunately my bank told me they do not dispute charges from an auction site. I contacted the BBB. Hopefully that does the trick. The important thing here is we all have to be diligent to spread the word about this scam of a company. Tell a friend!

  20. SCAM!!!! Every auction has same bidders. F@*k them!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. wow just happend to me today. spent 75 damn dollars. i am going to turn them in as well, for a fact. what a rip off, everyone who can turn them in.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, they also asked for credit card information, which I thought was for future bidding, when I found they had charged $179. to my credit card I tried to call to no avail and then went to the customer service email service and wrote that I am a senior citizen and can not afford to lose $179 on something I just wanted to have a look at the website and try to decide whether or not I could afford to purchase anything on the auction. They also told me that I should have read the ads as it was quite clear that they would be charging my card. Well it certainly was not clear that they would be charging my card. They sent me a link which they said would take me to the page I signed up on with all the information on it regarding the $179. well that was not the page I signed up on nor was it the page with the ad about their auctions. I really feel duped and this has really caused a hardship for us. This company is a real scam and at the very least terribly unscrupulous. Don't lose your money like I have. Why is everyone commenting anonymously, do we all feel like there could be some repercussions by this scam operation?? I guess I will too.

  25. Wavee is not a scam! That $179 is a suggested price of referal when you get refered from a certain website. They give their card numbers but are not even careful enough to read what they are doing! They have great prices and thousands of people have won great things on Wavee.

  26. WAVEE is a total scam. I logged on after midnight and clicked on all of the ending auctions in the top row of the page, and ALL of them had the exact same amount of participants, and the exact same usernames bidding. The only explanation is that the usernames are bots set to raise up the prices. I am so sorry I bought bids to this website. What is my recourse? Just bid knowing full well they will automatically outbid me? What a waste of money! This seems criminal

    ReplyDelete
  27. The comments about Wavee are 25 to 1 negative -- that should be enough to keep any thinking person away from this auction service. Stick with something legitimate like Ebay!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I too just found out I was charged $75.00 and did not realize it until I got their email "bill". I thought I would only be charged each time I placed a bid. I now notice on their web site that they provide "5 free credits to start". The "terms and conditions" of their agreement ONLY says that I would need to purchase credits, not how many and when. This is a misleading and deceptive business practice they have going on. I am going to give their customer service a chance to make it right first. If they do refund my $75.00 (minus 75 cents since I did make one (1) bid)good. If not, I will contest this purchase with my bank. Yes, BBB should be alerted to this billing scheme they have going on.

The BBB may get back YOUR money, but what about all those who don't know where to start or how to fight to get it back?

The more that file complaints the more likely The Attorney General's office would investigate Wavees' practices and possibly bring a lawsuit

  32. Wavee.com is the most fraudulent online "business" I have ever run into. Being a penny auction (or however they describe their business and how it works) has nothing (ZERO) to do with their fraudulent behavior and results, regardless of how "fair" or unfair their bidding process may be.

They fraud you out of money up front and then they fraud you out of money if you "win" something. I have never seen a business like this - blatant fraudulent activity. My only shock is that they have not been shut down and thrown in jail yet.

This URL looks like a very good place to complain. PLEASE, everyone complain and be honest in your complaints.

  33. I was taken in by Wavee's claim of offering "the lowest price online." It seemed to me that if I was bidding on something that I was going to buy anyway, and because the money I spent on bidding would apply to the buy it now price, that I had nothing to lose if they buy it now price in fact was the lowest price. I was surprised by the $75 charge-- it was made without the usual warning screens that come before you submit to buy something-- but I thought that I would apply that money toward something in any case, so I let it go.

Once in the system I quickly learned tow things: 1. Wavee does not actually sell very many products. The lack of selection is hidden behind a very screwy search function: my son was interested in the game "Rome Total War." A search under that returned a page of hits, including seemingly every video game in stock, I-pods and kitchen blenders (but no Rome Total War, nor anything with any of the words in the phrase). Any search will return essentially the same list. 2. More troubling, one of the things sold by Wavee that I might actually buy, a Mackbook pro, is sold for less on other sites. The Wavee price is pretty good, but not the best. I used the online help window to ask how Wavee intended to make good on its promise of the lowest price. Thew first responses to my question did not address it at all, but seemed to be just random ad copy. When I finally forced the issue, the Wavee rep replied that they "do not engage in price matching." I asked how they enforce their "lowest price online" promise without engaging in price matching. The reply was that they never promised the lowest price, just "among the lowest prices."

So I listened to the promotional video again, and it definitely says "lowest price," not "among the lowest prices." By now I was very suspicious, so I googled Wavee and discovered this site, and stories of a $179 charge. I checked my account and I have not yet been charged that amount, but decided I needed to get out as soon as possible, so I called the 800 number. Unlike some of the people here I had no trouble reaching a real person. I explained what had happened, and was told that they cannot refund money paid for bids. I explained my situation again, emphasizing that I have been misled into spending money I never would have spent otherwise. I said I know that it is not their policy to refund bid money, but that it certainly was in their power to do so, and insisted on doing so. And they agreed. The rep said they would refund my money within 7 days, and delete my account. I'll see if it happens.

The irony is that the Wavee people have ruined what might have been a perfectly legitimate business just by acting like it is a scam. The partially or completely hidden charges, the refusal to "engage in price matching," the evasive and misleading answers to straightforward questions, the spurious search results, all combine to create the impression that this is a very shady operation that cannot be trusted. Had the Wavee reps not answered my questions with lies I might well have kept my account open and eventually bought something. As it was, I felt like a chump.

One could take the basic Wavee model and build it into a successful, honest business (or at least as honest as any business can be that thrives on the same compulsion that drives people to play slot machines). But I doubt that this particular attempt will last very long or attract many customers.

  35. I spent $75.00 for credits, then $37.50 for credits. I ordered the XBox360 Kinnect for $137.50. That was Nov 16, 2010. It is now, Dec. 22, 2010 No item has been shipped. I finally, after 10 calls, 4 e-mails, was able to cancel the order the money will be refunded 7 to 10 days. But that's only the $137.50. The other money, they flat out refused to return. I asked to speak to a supervisor, the Supervisor will call me back 24-48 hours. The recording on the phone when I call says that Customer service is #1 with them. That's crap! I suggest that they are a scam, do NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!!!! Order number: 685251

  36. LOOK AT WHO IS GETTING ALL THE MONEY !!!
Even if you get past the fact that you pay an up front fee to participate, look at the end results of any of the auctions for a more pricey item.
For example, here's an ended auction for a home theater system, final winner paid $49.34. This means that there were 4,934 1-cent bids, each of these bids cost someone 75-cents, if legit bids. This means that Wavee received $3,700.50 plus the $49.34 that the final bidder paid. This is a true sucker play - STAY AWAY !!!

  37. 100% Scam....Just stay away from this outfit. I had no idea they will cash in $75.00 from my CC. I call and a women answer and she wanted to refund the balance credit, I told her I want 100% refund, I called my bank and I am now going there to stop the payment.

  40. If you need anymore proof that WAVEE is a scam look no further than the sourcecode of the website. (for those who dont understand right click anywhere on the website and click view source)

anyone notice anything odd? those customer testimonials on their page are completely bogus. how do we know this? 2 ways. numero uno: at least five of the pictures are of minors. other than say bill gates kid or the nearest facsimile thereof what kid has a CC?
numero dos and the one dealing with the source code: notice the picture files are .gif images. look at the file name. 320bot.gif 523bot.gif 307bot.gif. whats wrong with this picture? Those pics were phished from myspace accounts, facebook accouts and any other myriad of social networking sites. OPEN YOUR FREAKING EYES AMERICA!

  41. I am just the latest user that was scammed. I contacted "Erica" in customer service to close my account and get my $75.00 refunded, she tried to get me to acknowledge that I understand that I am losing my remaining credits, which I refused to do.

I was bidding on an ipad that I lost, no surprise. I can still see the ended auction, the auction # and the winning bidder, but can't find that "auction" in their ended bids. I scrolled through 10+ pages of ended auctions and it isn't anywhere, and the auction number doesn't exist.

When I explained to "Erica" my concerns that this was an unscrupulous website, the auctions were fake, etc, she laughed. She just said you aren't getting your money back and you lost your credits.

    BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!

  43. Another sucker here. They sure have a great system for sucking us in. My guess is that if I were a gambler, and not a shopper, I would be hooked. This is in essence a gambling operation. There is a small chance that any one individual will "win" but in reality overall the "players" are losing given that for every $100 in sales players have spend $7500. When you are playing slots that's what you expect (or should expect). But now when you are buying at an auction. Those of us who are complaining are getting off easy. Obsessive gamblers could easily get addicted to this site. Not good. I filed a complaint (See Joe's post above).

  44. I was charged $89 with no confirmation or acknowledgment. I immediately contacted my bank and disputed the charges, which meant I had to get a new card. Very sketchy company in my eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. My story seemed like a pleasant one at first. I purchased 80 credits for $48.00 and then won two auctions for more credits that cost me another 12 cents. I then won two $25 gift cards for 7 cents and $2.18 respectively. When I felt I had the hang of this penny auction thing, I went to bid on the Wii game I wanted. I won a bot war in the process of the auction which put the "Buy Now" price down 50%. I did not win the auction but clicked on "Buy Now" to purchase it for $26.49. This all happened on November 25th. I received the email with the link for the gift cards within the 7-10 days they say to expect. I was able to pick the ones I wanted and received them in the mail within days. All was going good.

Then I patiently waited for the Wii game to be delivered. I knew the site mentioned to expect shipment within 2-3 weeks and then 2-4 days for delivery. After over a month of waiting, I used the online support to lodge a complaint and ask for shipment of the product and a tracking number. The person assigned to my complaint replied with "Hello, Thank you for contacting Wavee Support. We apologize for the delay in shipping. Due to increasingly high holiday demand, your product has experienced a short delay. You product will ship in due course, but if you would rather us issue you an immediate refund, we completely understand. Once shipped, your order should arrive in 2-4 business days. Visit the "My Wavee" Tab (after you have logged-in) and click Order History. You can monitor the Tracking Number and shipping information there. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,

    Wavee Support"

That was 3 weeks ago and still no product. I have reopened my complaint two times with it being immediately closed and listed as solved without any additional comment or response.

So, if I had received my product, I would have been happy with my purchases worth over $100 for the price I paid Wavee of $76.82

  46. SCAM! FRAUD! Won an auction 12/7 and never received. Finally got hold of Erika in customer service who said item is being shipped I would get tracking # soon. 47. Same story here. I won 2 auctions, one of them for a MacBook Air Computer, which took me 32 hours to win. 49. I also had won 5 actions from 11-12-10 to 12-3-10 and complained to wavee support when my product was not shipped by Jan. 3, 2010. After several e-mails the actions were finally "VOIDED" and my bid credits were placed back on my account. There had been NO refund to my account for the money I spent in processing fees $1.99 for each aution. Has anyone heard if a wimmer of an action has actually recieved the product? I have reported them on various web pages for fraud and scam, but would like to see a class action law suit against them for credit card fraud for billing. Every site I visited about Wavee has them over billing customers. Thankfully it was on $100 it could have been much much more.....

  50. I too was ripped off. I won an auction for a Cuisinart 7-cup food processor back on 12/10/2010.. and just yesterday (2/2/2011), they voided the transaction and refunded me the $3.38 that I paid, and the credits I spent..
How can they be offering items up for auction that they don't actually have???
What really galls me is they have the EXACT same item up for auction right NOW.. people are currently bidding on it.. and will be sadly dissapointed just like I was when they never receive it. :(

  52. Totally a SCAM!! I won nine auctions between 11-20-10 and 12-15-10. I called customer service numerous times to find out when my items would ship and was always told that they were being processed and would ship shortly, and to expect an email with the complete shipping information. Well I logged on to my Wavee account on 1-28-11 to find an email that the eight auctions I have won were voided and I received all my bids back because Wavee experienced some technical difficulties. This is such a scam I called at least 10 times to check on the status of the items that were won, and was never informed of these so called technical difficulties. What a rip off. We should try a class action law suit to get all our money back!!

  53. BEWARE… WAVEE is a SCAM!

They work in a different way. They have a unique style of cheating. See this –

    1. I won several auctions on Wavee.

    2. They haven’t shipped me items won more than 4 months back!

    3. They “voided” 13 of my won auctions saying there was some technical problem during those auctions.

    4. They purposefully permit improper use by some users (such as collusion) for several months (even after complaints from other users) and finally close their accounts and void their auctions. Thus, regular users loose bids against the fraud users and fraud users don’t get any items. Double win for Wavee!

I don’t think that Wavee does any direct fraud like making multiple charges on credit cards etc. But they loot the customers indirectly.

  54. Wavee.com is a service that's misleading and deceiving after I tried it out. You think you'll be saving money but instead, you find out that it's more of a gambling site where you'll need to buy credits to bid and it's only helping the company profit the wrong way instead. When you try to ask for a refund, they might tell you that credits are non-refundable, which is normally the first thing they'll say, and also that you should have read the terms and conditions and purchase order and can't refund your money back, or they'll try and act like they're going to help you out by doing this so call special conditions refund; when it's nothing more but to steal money and is doing them a favor instead, and am sure others have received this so call special conditions refund as well before.

Normally I don't inform other customers that might want to join this website but since wavee.com is very corrupted and is mainly to steal money from customers, I don't want others to get trap into their scams also. I just want to add that wavee.com might be using auto bidders that might look like real bidders and compete with actual customers in order to have real customers spend more money on bidding and buying more credits. I don't have enough proof from my experience but know that there are other customers that notice suspcicion when bidding against other bidders; and you can also look at videos that users posted on youtube about wavee.com when you type "wavee scam" in the youtube search engine.

So, my point overall is to stay away from joining wavee.com and you will not have to worry about going through all the hassles on trying to get your money back from wavee.com; since you have plenty of proof that wavee.com is not a good service from all these other customers warning and would explain on what they went through when they joined the website.

WAVEE is a great company.. if you take the time to read the terms and conditions..before entering your credit card info.. then you too would understand the site... how ever.. its not their fault that you don't want to read.. like you should .. before you put your credit card info on anything.. so WHY should they be held accountable just because you didn't take the time out to inform your self of what you are about to do.....

to bad to sad... start reading... its not their FAULT..... I WOULD NOT GIVE YOU A REFUND EITHER..

  56. When asking for a chargeback from your bank tell them Wavee US LLC is an unlicensed gambling site and not an auction site! They've charged me $89 just for registering. I AM OUTRAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beware they are a fraudulent company! Go to the BBB web site and file a complaint as I just did. http://www.bbb.org/us/Find-Business-Reviews/ Where it asks for business name, enter Wavee US, LLC . If everybody who was ripped off did that, maybe their web site will be shut down. Couple of days ago I wanted to check out Wavee.com penny auction site so I went ahead and registered with them. Filled out their form entering my name, address and also credit card number. I wasn’t surprised that they’ve asked for my cc number, I thought they will need it when/if I’ll buy / win something from their site. Next thing I know is that my visa was charged for $89.00 without any order taking place, without any verification or approval. I did not order nor purchased anything, all I did was clicked the “Continue” button on their site after registering. They've charged me $89 just for registering because I am 1000% sure I DID NOT PURCHASE anything from their site. They refuse to refund me the $89. Now (when it’s too late) I am checking out their reviews on the net and hundreds of people are complaining that the same happened to them too. This is a ripoff, this is a criminal act, this is FRAUD and should be punished. After I’ve sent them an email they are offering a 50% refund (as they do to everybody else as I’ve read on the internet). I will contact the FBI, their local Attorney General’s Office, their local Governor and will also file criminal charges against them. Everybody should contact the above authorities and try everything in our power to shut this fraudulent company down. I am really pissed!!!!!!

  57. Won a western digital passport drive back in November, paid for the item and after 1 month still haven't receive it. File a complaint, was told the item will be shipped shortly, after another two weeks, file another complaint, this time my order was canceled and refunded the purchased amount. This website is total scam, they have no intention of ever honor the auctions and most likely don't have any of item in stock ever.

  58. Wavee is the biggest rip-off ever!
From the people that have a positive review, I want to know did u win anything? Cause I've been looking for 5 MONTHS for a legitimate site (not one that Wavee advertises on) where someone won something. I signed up for them, but unlike the others did not get hit with any fees, I ended up buying my item as to not loose my $75. That was in November. I am still waiting for my item. I have called "the great customer service team at wavee", quite a few times, and I have not found them great, like other people have lied and said that they are. Instead, EVERY time I speak to someone they give me a different story, all while assuring me that they know how to resolve the problem, which I'm still waiting for! Oh, and for all the people who talk about reading what's on there site before u sign up, THERE IS NOTHING ON THE SITE THAT SAYS U WILL HAVE TO WAIT 5 MONTHS TO GET SHIPMENT OF AN ITEM. So please stop trying to make others feel bad about being ripped off. I knew the risk of not winning a bid when I signed up, I knew I could loose my $75, but I was not prepared to loose the $60 I added to that for my item, or the 5 months of bs!

  59. Wavee is a total scam! Users beware! They con you into buying inn on bids then if you use those bids to bid on more bids you still have to break out your credit card to pay some bogus fees. When you use the BUY NOW to recoup your bids as advertised you have to break out your credit card again to pay the differance because th then you tell ey will not allow you to pay the difference with the bids that are one cent bids that you pay seventy five cents for. What a con! So then you pay the difference trying to get the item. Then the post that the dilivery time is more than a month later at first. Then they tell you delivery is another month. Then they tell you it has been voided with no reasoning. Then when you tell them you want a refund for your charges for the item they will not respond from there costomer service department. So much for costomer service! Then when you file a complant with the Better Buisness Bureau and only then they will send you this responce

    Hello,
Thank you for contacting Wavee Support. We apologize for the delay. Refunds are done on a rolling basis and the time frame is subject to change. It does appear that it will be processed shortly. Thanks,
